28.12.09 (Monday)
Actually my main target is to find job in KK because my parents is working there, so it's easier for me. So Ketty and I went to find job at CP. After finding a few restaurant, she just say that she does not have transport. I'm seriously so mad at that time cause I'm desperately wanting a job and I want somebody to accompany me. But what can I do, so we went back home after that.
Actually after that I want to go rebonding, but mum say that she doesn't have time. I say that I can go by myself, but she say she can help me reduce the price. So I had to go there on the next day. It really pissed me off cause the price still the same and I didn't need my mum at all. It's a waste of my time and I had to go there by taking bus somemore. Spending 4hours at KK Plaza and it cost me RM150 + RM20 cut.
31.12.09 (Thursday)
After 3days, go back there again to get my hair treatment, wash+ steam+ rebonding = RM13. Really feel so comfortable to get my hair washed. But it doesn't stay so long, after a weeks, my hair started to curl. I think it's because of the way I sleep. I really don't want to care about it anymore, I just tie my hair and blow it. Haih.... my RM150 GONE!!!
Ok, back to my work. Before I get my hair treatment, went to Upperstar, Lintas interview cause most of my friends is working there and I think that few restaurant that I ask before will not call me. So I can go to work on Monday.
2.01.10 (Saturday)
But Kenny Rogers there suddenly call me to go interview. In the phone, the supervisor say that I just need to work for a few hours because they want to see how I work. So I go there interview, but actually they are hiring me and expect me to work until night. I keep giving excuses that I don't have transport cause I'm not ready to work. Quite tired also work at there, but they give me Kenny Rogers' food when I go home.
I'm really so confused at that time cause I already agree with Upperstar. Keep doing comparison...
Kenny Rogers
- Salary- RM3.50 1 hour.
- No friends.
- Take bus every morning and spend my RM2.
- Need to walk from Wawasan to CP every morning.
- Taking order is so hard cause they got a lot of side dishes.
- From morning to night.
- Salary- RM3 1 hour.
- Lots of friend.
- 9am-5pm. (Can go home see allkpop, hehe...)
The supervisor sms me to go to work on Sunday, 11am. I just reply that I want to further my studies (using Fanny's idea), but she didn't reply me back, so I don't know whether she receive it or not. I feel so dumb for asking my salary for working there for 4 hours. Thanks to the 'cc' guy for teaching me how to take order, but I'm disappointing you.
4th-24th Jan
I'm officially work at Upperstar. I really hate weekdays cause there are less people. So boring man!!! Standing there like tunggul. I prefer walking around.
Job
- Take order, repeat order, and check order.
- Clean table.
- Check toilet.
- Opening and closing job. (clean toilet, mop, sweep the floor, setting....)
I think that's not call lunch cause we just can eat at 4pm. If less people, then we can eat at 3pm. Everyday we just eat curry chicken or kicap chicken. BORING!!! But got one day they make us butter chicken, so delicious... Sometimes we also get fries and wedges from them, hehe... We are given 15 minutes to eat, It's really hard to find the meat part cause most of it is bones, so we need to take 5-6 pieces of chicken, kesian...
But got one day the supervisor tell us to eat at inside cause there are somebody who doesn't clean up after eat. It's so smelly and disgusting!!! Seeing them prepare all the foods, I really want to vomit!!! I really cannot stand it, eat there for 5 minutes only. But after that they let us eat at outside, but we have to clean it.
Actually before that after doing our opening job, we can go eat breakfast. But they won't let us after that. So we need to do cleaning job. I had been told to lap the fan, so scare...
Songs
OMG!!! Upperstar really need new songs!!! Damn boring man!!! Keep hearing the same old songs again and again. I think I know how to sings most of the songs already, but don't know the title. Lady Gaga's song is the most popular one, Poker Face, Paparazzi and Bad Romance. Beyonce's Sweet Dream and so much more. Gaga ulala.... getting sick of hearing it!!!!
Taking wrong orders
- The customer order nasi lemak king, but i write nasi lemak. But thanks to Kak Pearl, she didn't ask me to pay for it. We just wait if got other customer order nasi lemak.
- On the next day, Hii Seng also made mistake, the customer order grilled chicken burger, but he writes grilled chicken, but Kak Ida help him pay for that.
- Ketty also take wrong order for fish and chips. So she had to find other peoples to share with her.
- I thought the customer want to order hot tenom coffee and I just repeat tenom coffee, but actually she wants the cold one. But nothing serious lahh, the bar just add ice to it.
- The customers wait for their fish and chips for so long, so they call me and say 'itu ikan baru tangkap kah?' haha....
- Our promo nasi lemak is very small size, but the customer didn't know it. When the food arrive, he say 'punyalah besar' haha...
- Abang Basir say Ketty's face like Spongebob, haha... jahat...
1) I'm glad that I had tried all the things when working at Upperstar, it was really a wonderful experiences!!! I have been in Section A, B and C. I hate Section C the most cause it's the smoking area. I think I'm gonna get lung cancer if everyday stand at outside. I wonder why all the girls like to smoke, such a loser!!! But the good things is you can control all the things at outside, you can take order and punch order by yourself. Nobody will care about you.
2) I also had tried runner foods, but I keep going out to talk with Ketty because it's so boring inside there and I'm not that close with Hii Seng, so we don't talk that much. But thanks to him, he helps me a lot to serve the food. I saw them using their hand touching the food, so gross man!!!
3) And runner drinks also. So dangerous!!! The drinks keep flowing out, but thanks God that I didn't break any of the glass. I really can't take the drinks with one hand at the bottom like the pro always do cause I will lose balance. I need to grab the tray and sent it.
Got a Malay guy there so nice, actually I just want the leftover drink that they had blended, but he say, 'nanti saya buat kasi kau', so nice!!! I had tried Ice Blended Cappuccino, Mango Mambo and Mango Juice for free!!! I'm so surprise that they use tap water to serve to the customers. They say that it's clean, better not order it.
Tips
1) At first I really admire Abang Salleh as he tells all his experiences of doing all kinds of part time job and meets all the international people. He thinks that sleeping is just a waste of time and after he work at Upperstar, he works at Brass Monkey at night. But when Kak Pearl ask me to help him at outside, he takes all the tips no matter who gives the bill.
2) Got a customer forget to take his balance (RM27.90) and leave, so Abang Salleh tell me to wait for the customer if they come back. But the customer didn't come back, so we share the money, but Abang Salleh just give me RM10, so selfish lahh him. What a lucky day for me!!! Total tips for me, RM20++, hehe...
3) Ketty also got RM5 tips for opening door to a Korea customer, haha...
4) May also got RM6.80 after being tricked by the customer. After the customer take his bill, he became so angry and want her to call the manager here, he even take the sauce and want to throw at May. She really so shocked and want to call Kak Pearl, but after that the customer say he just joking only and he leaves the tips there. Kesian May...
Bad Days
1) My last day sucked!!! My closing job is cleaning toilet. One of the bowl get clogged, but we don't have the pump. So Kak Ryn and I went to Lintas Square to buy. We didn't talk that much, but she give me eat keropok, haha... It is so disgusting to unclogged the bowl with all the tissues inside, eiuu... What a pity day for me.
2) Seriously, I didn't really like Regina. If I take wrong order or make any mistake, she will talk to me seriously. I wonder why she so care about it, it's not her father's restaurant. Why can't you just talk to me nicely??? I know are are older than me, but so what!!! And also Faith, who like to yell at people, it's so no manes lahh!!! I know you are busy, but can you please just come to me and call me, it's not good also to yell in front of the customers. *sorry guys*
3) I hate briefing!!! Kak Pearl seems like didn't like me. Keep saying all the mistakes that I do in front of all the staff, so embarrassed man!!! She keeps staring at me, like I'm the only one who make mistakes. Here's my mistakes....
- Switching place with Louis without informing her.
- Menyandar on bar there when I do runner drink.
- My movement is so slow.
- Taking wrong order.
- She say that we didn't do our cleaning job nicely.
4) The customer wait for his nasi lemak for so long already, but still have not arrive. Then suddenly they say the sate need to change to curry chicken. So I need to inform him, he say ''I already wait so long and now you just telling me, whatever lahh'' rally feel like want to punch him!!!
5) Got a customer didn't pay for her chicken french toast and leave cause she say she wait too long. Luckily Elvin go and call her, if not we need to pay for it. Seriously, I think Upperstar's service really so bad.
6) Really hate our boss!!! If we stand at there like tunggul, he will tell us to clear the table, he even say to Clara that her mum didn't teach her ahh, so rude!!! He really didn't have the 'boss' looks, everytime he comes, he just wear casual clothes. His wife is so beautiful, I think she married to him is just because of his money, haha... jk.
Resigned
I really hate how Kak Charon plan our schedule. Some of us come at 11am and the others come at 9am, she say that their sales drop, that means our salary is lower, so unfair!!! So we follow the schedule from 11am-6pm, but they halau us before 6pm, cause the night staff already arrive. She plan my time for 2 weeks like that. But on the third week, Kak Pearl let us come at 9am because the Boss give us salary based on our card, but not the schedule. And luckily Kak Charon is at night shift, so she didn't check our time. *Thanks Kak Pearl!!!*
Actually I want to do until 31Jan, but they just give us one day off only for CNY, so Kak Charon tell us if we want to quit, quit at 25Jan because the card only until 25Jan. I think they got a lot of staff already and want to get rid of all the Chinese.
Salary
RM390 for 17 days, but after cut Upperstar's cap and apron, my salary just left RM360. Really want to kill Upperstar's boss!!! So kedekut!!! Although we work until 6pm or 5pm++, he doesn't count the OT. We work until so late but didn't get paid. Hate him!!! Learn a lesson today, do your closing job faster and go back earlier, never think that you will be given extra money for going back late!!!

No matter what happens, I really feel so glad for working there. I think I will be going back there after CNY if there still have vacancy. And my salary will also increase to RM3.20, hehe...
